Colonoscopy
The day before

Have soft and digestible foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (Japanese noodles, rice gruel, bread, etc.).

what must not be eaten

Legumes, ramen noodles, mushrooms, seaweeds, fruits, vegetables, sesame, and beans such as a peanut.

Particularly, constipation patients must not have these from 2 to 3 days before the examination.

We recommend you to control meals in accordance with the examination day.

*We will prescribe a medicine which you take on the examination day

Before the examination

Please dissolve Niflec, an intestinal irrigation medicine, into 2 liter water and take it slowly over 2 hours starts from 7 to 8 o’clock in the morning at your house.

It’s possible to irrigate intestines with tablets (Bisiclear), if you don’t like the Niflec.

However, the result of examination may be a little bit spoiled.

After you start to take the medicine, you will have a bowel movement repeatedly over 3hours according to the effect of the irrigation and your intestines will be clean.

The process of the colonoscopy
STEP1

The examination will start in the afternoon.

Please change your clothes to an examination wear and paper underpants.

STEP2

Before the examination, you will have an injection which stops a movement of intestines.

There is almost no pain under your examination by having an injection of a sedative agent.

STEP3

The examination time will be about 15 minutes. You may watch your intestines on the monitor while you are having the examination.

STEP4

Please take a rest at a recovery room after the examination.

Finally, you will have explanation, looking at a screen .

Colonoscopy fee

We will consult you before the examination day and give you an intestinal irrigation medicine.

(Fee will be changed by medical fee, blood test and medication.)

Necessity and importance of endoscopy

In case of the Esophago-Gastroduodenoscopy, you can undergo the examination on the day when you make an appointment. 

In case of the colonoscopy, you will be asked to have consultations in advance with a doctor.
